Part 4 – Haslemere to Midhurst via Rake

Approx. 46km (28 miles)

Saving the best to last, that is what they say, well for me, this was saving the hardest part to last.  I knew this was going to be the longest bit of the trail and I had been putting it off until I was in the right headspace to take it on as I knew it was going to be a tough trail and could not do it half-heartedly.

I caught the bus up to Haslemere after I dropped Harry at school, and when I arrived at the bus station, I would start to walk through the town and get to my starting point, which on the AllTrails app was at Swan Barn Farm. It was an area that covered around thirty hectares and supported a variety of wildlife within its semi ancient woodland, hedgerows, pasture and hay meadows, an orchard and several streams and ponds.
